NATIONAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING AAITG/SAPOF/0025/002
Bid and contract document for the supply of garden materials with boreholes, strengthening of the NATC demo farm and the completion of the works at the Demo Farm in Dalaba village, Central River Region South
The SAPOF project, spearheaded by ActionAid International The Gambia (AAITG) in collaboration with Njawara Agricultural Training Centre (NATC) and Gambia Participates (GP), seeks to advance sustainable agricultural practices through the promotion and use of organic fertilizers. This initiative addresses the constraints faced by small-scale farmers in The Gambia, particularly women and youth, in accessing and utilizing organic fertilizers. The project aligns with the EU's policy to promote agroecological practices and the National Development Plan (NDP) of The Gambia.
The overall objective of SAPOF is to enhance the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs), particularly those led by women and youth, to advocate for agroecology and increased use of organic fertilizers in The Gambia. The project focuses on policy dialogue, skills development, and community engagement, aiming to address issues such as soil fertility, high fertilizer costs, and the lack of government support for agroecological approaches.
