ActionAid The Gambia has been implementing different projects aimed at empowering women, girls and smallholder farmers.
ActionAid The Gambia has been implementing different projects such as the Agro-ecology and Resilience Project, Global Fund New Funding Model for the eradication of HIV & AIDS and Malaria, Promoting Women’s Socio-economic Rights, Strengthening Women’s Economic Initiatives, Agro-ecology and Eco-restoration Project and Empowering Civil Society Organisations to Mobilise Citizens Actions Towards Green Economy and Environment Sustainability. All these projects were aimed at curbing poverty, empower women and achieve gender equity, policy advocacy for women’s rights, gender responsive public services, promote civic awareness for good governance, accountability and supporting communities to adapt Climate Resilient Sustainable Agriculture (CRSA), to adapt and mitigate the impact of climate change and irregular migration.
The main sources of funding for ActionAid’s interventions are through child sponsorship and philanthropists, the European Union through The Gambia Delegation, Margaret A. Cargill Foundation, Amplify Change, The British High Commission, Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the UN System.
